How to remove FlashCap
1. To remove the FlashCap (Standard or Nylon version) from the FlashTap, you will need two tools: a Kailh switch puller and an H1.5 hex screwdriver. They are indicated by the red frames in the image below.
If you cannot find a suitable hex screwdriver, you can also remove the screws by gripping and turning them with tweezers as shown in the image below.
Some later models of the FlashTap are secured with flathead screws, as shown in the image below. In that case, please prepare a standard small flathead screwdriver, which can be purchased at dollar stores or similar retailers.
2. By removing the two screws on the FlashTap, you can separate the PCB from the outer frame. The result is shown within the red frame in the image below.
3. You can hook the MX_Stem by inserting the Kailh switch puller through the hole at the bottom, and by pulling firmly, you can separate the FlashCap from the MX_Stem.
