How to attach the FlashCap

FlashCap-30:

1. The following images show the FlashCap and the FlashTap without the cap. The FlashCap has two notches, as indicated by the red arrows.

2. Align the notch on the FlashCap with the tab on the FlashTap, and then press the FlashCap firmly down until it clicks into place.

FlashCap-24:

The button cap functions reliably regardless of its orientation, simply press it down firmly.

How to remove the FlashCap

1. You will need two tools: a Kailh switch puller and a H1.5 hex driver , outlined in red in the image below.

If you can't find a suitable hex driver, you can also remove the screw by gripping and turning it with tweezers like the ones shown below.

2. Then you can remove the two screws on the FlashTap to separate the board from the case, the result is shown in the red box in the image below.

3. By inserting the Kailh switch puller into the hole at the bottom, you can hook the MX_Stem, and by pulling it out with force, you can separate the FlashCap and the MX_Stem.

To achieve a smoother pressing feeling

FlashTap has four points in its structure (as shown below, including their symmetrical counterparts) where friction occurs. By applying a small amount of lubricant to these areas, you can reduce friction noise and achieve a smoother feel.

Since FlashTap is made of PC (polycarbonate) material, please use a lubricant suitable for plastics.
