FlashCap-Nylon-Convex, the pursuit of the ultimate typing feel

FlashCap-Nylon-Convex is a special product in our company's history, born from our pursuit of the ultimate typing feel.

To achieve the ultimate typing feel, we used pure nylon as the raw material instead of the glass fiber-reinforced nylon used in typical plastic products. This significantly increased production difficulty, leading to challenges such as inconsistent edge dimensions and excessive burrs.

Because the edge dimensions are particularly unstable, it is not compatible with FlashTap and can only be used with Specter, which has a relatively wider tolerance for dimensional variations.

As it cannot be considered a mature and stable product, we have decided to discontinue production once the current stock is sold out.

However, for players who are skilled at DIY and are in search of the ultimate typing feel, this is a valuable product, as pure nylon button caps are undeniably superior in typing feel compared to fiber-reinforced ones.

FlashCap-Nylon-Convex can be used with Specter as-is without any special processing. If you are looking for an even better typing feel, please process them using the following methods.

1. Soak in boiling water

(1) Boil about two bowls worth of water (bowl reference: approx. 12cm in diameter, 6cm in height) using an electric kettle.

(2) Prepare a container. A container with a sealable lid will retain heat better and be more effective.
Place the FlashCap-Nylon-Convex into the container, pour in the boiling water, and soak for 1 hour.

(3) Repeat steps (1) and (2) once more. The total soaking time will be 2 hours.

Cautions

(1) Please avoid using tableware if possible. If you do use tableware, wash it thoroughly with dish soap afterwards.

(2) Do not drink the water used to soak the FlashCap-Nylon-Convex.

(3) Do not soak FlashCap-Nylon-Convex of different colors in the same container.

2. Removing burrs

Simply trimming off the larger burrs around the edges with a utility knife or similar tool is sufficient, as shown in the image above.

By performing these two steps, you can bring out the best typing feel this cap has to offer.
